Aside from its association with Pink Floyd’s song and album, the phrase “Wish you were here” also conveys a broader sentiment of longing for a shared experience.
Often expressed through postcards or messages sent while travelling, it reflects the traveller’s desire to connect with someone far away—to share a moment, place or feeling that might otherwise be experienced alone. In this way, the phrase carries a sense of affection, nostalgia and the human impulse to bridge distance through memory and imagination.
This edition of the Travelogue Award seeks to engage audiences through diverse voices and perspectives that explore this sense of longing and encounter. Through different interpretations of travel—whether physical, emotional or reflective—the works presented aim to meaningfully respond to the theme, inviting viewers to consider how journeys create moments of connection, absence and shared imagination.
