LASALLE’s research culture is increasingly robust, dynamic and distinctive. While grounded in critical and theoretical inquiry, it also champions practice-based research that generates new knowledge through original investigations and interdisciplinary creative outputs.

At the heart of research at LASALLE is the intersection of critical reflection and creative practice—a principle that also underpins the College’s teaching and learning approach. Research here is not separate from making, but an extension of it. Faculty and students pursue their inquiries within an environment alive with complex ideas, diverse cultural perspectives and cutting-edge approaches to contemporary art and design.

Since the introduction of a new Research Strategy in 2012, LASALLE has seen a broad spectrum of outcomes, from scholarly publications and peer-reviewed articles to international conference presentations and original creative works exhibited, performed or screened on global stages.

These activities are deeply embedded in the College’s integrated arts campus, inviting both faculty and students into a culture of critical inquiry, experimentation and creative evolution.
