Muhammad Andri Bin Afandi | Academic Leadership & Faculty at LASALLE Singapore
Lecturer, Design Communication

Muhammad Andri Bin Afandi

muhammad-andri-bin-afandi
  • MA Design, Goldsmiths, University of London, UK (LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore)
  • BA(Hons) First Class Honours in Graphic Design, Open University (LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore)
  • Diploma in Graphic Design, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore

Andri majors in graphic design dealing constantly with type, text and image. He is particularly interested in the Asian and local contexts—addressing cross cultures, current affairs and intervention found in structures.

Andri had 11 years of industry experience prior to joining LASALLE in 2008. He has worked on a range of diverse projects from print media, digital media, post production, motion design, materiality and exhibition design. Clients whom he has worked with locally and regionally in Bangkok, Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur include Ogilvy & Mather, MTV Asia, SingTel, Epson, British Council, Singapore Tourism Board, Volkswagen, Meta4Films, Darkmatter Studios Asia and Land Transport Authority (LTA) where his role was instrumental in creatively developing a full suite of design communication deliverables and broadcast media.

Andri’s inquiry into visual responses often shape new forms or hybrids with visually engaging answers that explore new visual bridging, meanings, connectivity, interventions and whenever possible, wittiness in the creation. His interests and often-inspired works are spread across graphic design, image making, print, digital media, craft and materiality.

Andri has exhibited his individual and collaborative works in Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta since 2008.
