It includes architecture (monuments and sites considered valuable from the point of view of history, art or science), physical objects (considered important for archaeology, prehistory, history, literature, art or science) and practices, representations, expressions, knowledge and skills—and items and cultural spaces associated with them—that communities, groups and individuals recognise as culturally important to them.

In this course, we will examine how the law is used to safeguard cultural heritage. We will look at the use of law to safeguard tangible cultural property such as heritage sites, archaeological relics and modern artefacts, both during peacetime and in situations of armed conflict and intangible cultural heritage.

Issues that will be considered include legal schemes to safeguard built and natural heritage, the collection and display of human remains, the problem of stolen and illegally exported cultural objects, and whether artefacts which are not stolen should nonetheless be returned to their countries of origin.

These topics will be useful to those who may volunteer or work in contexts dealing with cultural heritage, such as art galleries, auction houses and museums, as well as in supporting communities to preserve and promote their intangible cultural heritage.

You are not required to have any previous knowledge of law to take this module.

This course is suitable for youths aged 16 to 18 to learn and review their fundamental art skills for preparing a portfolio for an interview.

Participants will learn to expand and develop ideas using dry and wet mediums and refine charcoal, pen and marker rendering techniques with the chosen themes, composition techniques and art styles. Participants will also learn watercolour and acrylic painting techniques to create drawings and paintings.

This course is suitable for dancers with at least six months to one year of consistent ballet training who are comfortable executing basic ballet combinations.

• Design and export a small set of finished assets, including at least one poster, one postcard and a one-page flyer.
• Produce one simple mock-up image (for example, a T-shirt, postcard or flyer in context).
• Complete a personal mini project such as a basic brand set (logo, postcard, flyer + mock-up) or a short zine/poster series using mixed vector and pixel techniques.

The course also covers fashion marketing copywriting, social media content creation for platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, and professional communication for fashion PR, including press releases and media pitches.

Through practical assignments, you will produce a range of fashion writing pieces and develop a professional portfolio that showcases your versatility. By the end of the course, you will be equipped with the skills and confidence to pursue opportunities in fashion media, marketing and brand communications.

It is designed to help learners develop sustainable mindfulness practices that support mental well-being, emotional resilience and greater self-awareness in daily life. Drawing on principles of cognitive therapy and mindfulness meditation, it provides practical skills for recognising habitual patterns of mind, managing stress and responding more skilfully to life’s challenges.

Through guided meditations, gentle movement, cognitive exercises, group dialogue and daily home practice, you will gain practical tools to recognise unhelpful thought patterns, respond more skilfully to challenging emotions, and build resilience that supports long-term emotional balance and overall mental health. While it is not intended as a substitute for medical or psychological treatment of acute mental health conditions, the course can be a valuable complement to ongoing self-care.

This questionnaire helps the instructor learn about you, your current situation, and what you hope to gain from the course. The pre-course interview is an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the course, ensure it is a good fit for you, and clarify expectations. The interview is informal and confidential, lasting around 10 to 20 minutes and held online or over the phone.

This foundational course explores the historical evolution and cultural significance of Chinese calligraphy, tracing its origins from ancient China to its modern influence on artistic expression.

Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of how this revered art form developed through different dynasties, studying iconic calligraphers such as Wang Xizhi and Zhang Xu and their contributions to various script styles.

Hands-on sessions will introduce the Four Treasures of the Study—brush, ink, inkstone and rice paper—allowing students to practice fundamental brush techniques and master different script styles, including Seal Script (篆书), Clerical Script (隶书), Regular Script (楷书), Running Script (行 书) and Cursive Script (草书).
