Course details

This course on fashion styling is designed for working professionals and individuals interested in enhancing their employability and career prospects in areas such as fashion retailing, visual merchandising, buying, content creation, advertising, branding, public relations and event organisation.

You will learn the fundamentals of fashion imaging—covering fabric, design, tailoring, fit, proportion, colour schematics, and trend analysis—supported by an introduction to fashion history and styling.

You will also learn trend reporting, how to analyse top fashion collections and train in the latest styling techniques for online and print media and personal branding. Through weekly assignments and consultations, you will be guided to refine your styling skills while expressing your unique creative perspectives.

About the trainer

Steve Thio Sin Loo

Steve Thio has built a career spanning 37 years in the fashion industry, holding diverse roles such as fashion stylist and writer, merchandiser, buyer, trend consultant, store manager, fashion editor, event choreographer and host, as well as working in editorial creative direction, marketing and social media.

For the past 10 years, Steve has also been an adjunct lecturer at LASALLE College of the Arts, teaching a wide range of diploma and degree modules.
