Course details

Learn to create an aesthetically pleasing work of botanical art. You will practise line drawing, proportions and tonal studies to capture the essence of a plant.

Lessons include relevant drawing demonstrations and a range of drawing techniques that includes observational study, contour drawing, capturing details, compositional studies and tonal value.

The prerequisite for Level II is the completion of the previous level or prior experience. Applicants who wish to join Level II and have prior experience in botanical drawing and painting are required to submit artworks for the trainer’s review. Applicants with no prior experience are encouraged to start from Level I.

Applicants with no prior experience are encouraged to start from Level I.

About the trainer

Adeleine Daysor

Adeleine Daysor is an artist-educator and cultural researcher specialising in painting, object-making and site-responsive installations. She imparts the arts and humanities through higher education, social work and customised programmes for youth, adults and seniors. She is an adjunct educator at LASALLE College of the Arts, Nanyang Technological University and the National University of Singapore.

Adeleine is founder and creative director of the Arts Garden Club and Fuchsia, artist collectives for education and community. She also participates in local arts initiatives and exhibits internationally.

She holds a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Surrey Institute of Art and Design, University College and an MFA in Drawing & Painting and MA in Visual & Critical Studies from California College of the Arts.
